Queen of Europe, whose crown is slightly stained

Angela Dorothea Merkel is a German baby-kisser serving as Chancellor of Germany seeing that 2005. A member of the Christian Democratic Union, Merkel is the first lady chancellor of Germany. She served as leader of the opposition from 2002 to 2005 and as chief of the Christian Democratic Union from 2000 to 2018.

Angela Merkel was once called the "Queen of Europe". But now that Germany's powerful chancellor is set to say goodbye to politics after the election of 2021. It’s not sure the suffix "Queen of Europe" will remain with her name.

Angela Merkel indeed is one of the longest-serving leaders in the current European Union. She has attended an estimated 100 meetings of the European Union and was often described as the "only adult in the room".

It is also true that they have helped push the European Union forward in the refugee crisis, the euro currency crisis, to some extent the Code 19, and even the Bridget crisis.

But it is a story of two personalities embodied in one body.

Their European heritage is as mixed as their domestic heritage. Domestically, she has been criticized for being a Christian manager or crisis manager during Germany's 16 long years of leadership, usually waiting until the last minute and reacting. Her European stage record can also be seen as being pragmatic but not far-sighted at all.

And when Angela Merkel leaves politics, that impression will last a long time.

Germany first

Spain and Italy also faced situations that many taxpayers saw as measures to force austerity and unfair austerity, believing it was also being forced at the behest of Angela Merkel.

Italy, once a passionate European state, has become a vibrant Eurosceptic member state.

Angry voters believed that the eurozone rules were designed to benefit powerful Germany, to the benefit of its lucrative export industry. According to him, what is the use of having such a European Union or a common market if strong and rich members like Germany do not help the weak and struggling countries?

They wanted to know where the German taxpayers were when you needed them.

Here begins another critique of Angela Merkel that her ideology was ultimately Germany in Europe.

First of all, every elected leader gives priority to his nation. But then because of their Nazi past, it's special to Germany. Germans and their chancellors are often reluctant to play a leading role in the international arena.

Merkel is a game-changer

So, does she deserve the title of Queen of Europe?

Chancellor Merkel intervened to shop the eurozone, but she additionally created a deep north-south divide within the european. Chancellor Merkel intervened to save the eurozone, but she also created a deep north-south divide within the EU. This division re-emerged during the migrant crisis and the onset of the epidemic. In which the southern Europeans felt that they had been left alone to face these emergencies.

But they were not alone for long. This was also due to Angela Merkel, although she did so much later. That is why their legacy of the European Union is mixed.

The Code 19 crisis, in contrast to the previous euro crisis, convinced them that rich countries like Germany should bear the debt burden of the poorest EU countries, such as countries that suffer from disproportionate economic effects of epidemics.

In doing so, she set a great example in the European Union. Which was a radical position for a German chancellor, especially at a time when traditional pressure exists at home and a balance must be struck.

The French Minister of Economy, Bruno Le Maire, was the key architect of the EU Code Recovery Fund, which was jointly proposed by Angela Merkel and President Emmanuel Macron to the EU leaders.

Another view is that once again Angela Merkel was working in the best interests of Germany. She also knew that if Italy, Spain, France, or others were to suffocate economically due to epidemics, the European Union's single market could collapse.

This market is an important source of income for German businesses. So, Crisis Manager Angela Merkel rolled up her sleeves and took a dramatic, practical step. She made history and headlines in Germany and beyond.

Europe after Merkel

It has been and still is, that French Emmanuel Macron aspires to this title.

When she announced his victory in the presidential election in Paris four years ago, she requested that the ninth tune of Beethoven, which is also the anthem of the European Union, be played. Named "Mr. Europe", the makers had a lofty plan of reform in the European Union, which included strategic sovereignty or at least less reliance on the United States, but they needed the help of Angela Merkel.

Help Europe breathe life into the so-called Franco-German motor and help German taxpayers invest money to make the vision of the 21st century European Union a reality. Which was not the most popular idea in Germany, and Angela Merkel knew it well.

Whoever becomes Germany's next chancellor after election 2021 will not have years of experience gathering in Brussels like Angela Merkel.

Emmanuel Macron sees a Merkel-shaped hole at the top of an EU table and hopes to fill it.

If they do, the block will see some big changes. The so-called emperor of the Elyse Palace in France would now also like to be king of Europe.

But first, they have to win the French presidential election in April, and that's no small feat.

At the beginning of her era, when asked how she feels when she thinks of Germany. She replied that I think of well-closed windows. No country can make such secure windows better than this.
